Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using 5lime Scanner ("Service") operated by 5lime Scanner ("we," "our," or "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

2. Description of Service

5lime Scanner is a security scanning platform that allows users to perform security assessments on domains they own or have authorization to scan. The Service includes features such as:

  • Email security analysis (SPF, DMARC, DKIM)
  • SSL/TLS certificate validation
  • DNS and domain analysis
  • Subdomain enumeration
  • Vulnerability scanning
  • Threat intelligence integration
  • White-label PDF report generation

3. Account Registration

To use certain features of the Service, you must create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete registration information
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
  • Accept responsibility for all activities under your account

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You must NOT:

  • Scan unauthorized targets: Only scan domains you own or have explicit written authorization to scan
  • Engage in malicious activities: Use scan results for hacking, unauthorized access, or any illegal purpose
  • Abuse the Service: Attempt to overwhelm, disrupt, or exploit our infrastructure
  • Circumvent limitations: Bypass scan quotas, rate limits, or other restrictions
  • Resell without authorization: Resell the Service without our written consent (white-label reports for your clients are permitted)
  • Violate laws: Use the Service in violation of any applicable laws or regulations
  • Infringe rights: Violate the intellectual property or privacy rights of others

Violation of this policy may result in immediate termination of your account without refund.

5. Authorization Requirement

IMPORTANT: You represent and warrant that you have proper authorization to scan any domain or IP address submitted to the Service. This includes:

  • Domains you own or control
  • Domains belonging to clients who have given you written permission
  • Domains for which you have a legitimate security assessment agreement

You agree to indemnify us against any claims arising from unauthorized scanning activities.

6. Subscription and Payments

6.1 Pricing

The Service offers various subscription tiers with different features and scan quotas. Current pricing is displayed on our website and may change with notice.

6.2 Billing

Paid subscriptions are billed monthly in advance. You authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel.

6.3 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time. Upon cancellation, you will retain access until the end of your current billing period. No refunds are provided for partial months.

6.4 Refunds

We do not offer refunds for subscription fees. If you believe you are entitled to a refund due to Service issues, please contact us to discuss your situation.

7. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with third-party APIs (Shodan, VirusTotal, AlienVault OTX, WPScan, etc.). Your use of these integrations is subject to their respective terms and conditions. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or content of third-party services.

When you provide API keys for third-party services, you are responsible for compliance with their usage terms and any associated costs.

8. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, features, and content, is owned by 5lime Scanner and protected by intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive license to use the Service for its intended purpose.

You retain ownership of your scan data and reports. We do not claim ownership of the information you submit or the reports generated from your scans.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT:

  • The Service will be uninterrupted or error-free
  • Scan results will be complete or accurate
  • The Service will detect all security vulnerabilities
  • The Service will meet your specific requirements

Security scanning is not a substitute for comprehensive security assessments by qualified professionals. You should not rely solely on our scans for security decisions.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, 5LIME SCANNER SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Loss of profits, data, or business opportunities
  • Security breaches or data loss
  • Damages arising from your use or inability to use the Service
  • Damages arising from unauthorized access to your account

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless 5lime Scanner and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorney fees) arising from:

  • Your use of the Service
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any third-party rights
  • Unauthorized scanning activities conducted through your account

12. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice, for any reason, including breach of these Terms. Upon termination:

  • Your right to use the Service will immediately cease
  • We may delete your account data after a reasonable period
  • Provisions that should survive termination will remain in effect

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation, and if necessary, binding arbitration or court proceedings in the appropriate jurisdiction.

14. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
